“ We recently hosted a retirement party for about 50 people and wanted a unique catering option to elevate the occasion. We were tired of the typical taco catering and sought something fancier to elevate the occasion. Bahar Restaurant came highly recommended by a friend, and we were immediately drawn to their offering of chafing dishes, metal serving and eating utensils, and non-paper plates. This not only gave our party a more upscale feel but also helped reduce waste--a huge plus for us. The catering process was seamless. Bahar's staff delivered all the equipment, including chafing dishes, food, plates, and utensils, directly to the venue. Cleanup was effortless--we left the used equipment in a secure location, and they retrieved it the next day. The team was professional, punctual, and helpful. The $130 delivery charge was reasonable given the quality and convenience. The food was a hit! We ordered yogurt and cucumber, kashko bademjan (Persian eggplant dip), samosas, fesenjoon (pomegranate stew), beef and chicken koobideh kabobs, veggie kabobs, basmati rice, baghali polo (dill rice), garden salad, and shirazi salad. Everything was delicious, but the kabobs were a favorite among our guests. For any future large event, I'll definitely consider Bahar Restaurant again. Their excellent service made setup stress-free, the presentation professional, and the food truly exceptional. While it was a few hundred dollars more expensive than tacos, the added cost resulted in an elevated and unique party experience. ”

“ Bahar is our go-to place for Persian food. My family and I have ordered many meals from here over the past 15 years, and everything has been delicious. Our favorite is Loobia Polo + Beef Koobideh. The prices are fair and the quality of food is great. We primarily order for takeout, but I dined in for lunch today. The inside looks formal and beverages/food were served on colorful ornate plates and glassware. However, the atmosphere felt relaxed and the diners were dressed casually. You should definitely try Bahar if you're looking for great Persian food! ”

The attention was impeccable in setting up and making sure the appetizer, dinner and desert presentation were elegant and fully functional. Mehrdad and Darya were exceptional; professional, knowlegable, and patient, while dealing with my menu changes and offering great suggestions. their jumbo whole salmon is always a show stopper as its beautifully presented and is the most delicious salmon I've ever had. The fesenjan (pomegranate walnut chicken and basmati rice) is a family favorite along with the baghali polo mahiche (lamb shank and fava bean basmati rice). I was a little hesitant to order a Thanksgiving turkey from a Persian restaurant, but I was delighted with tender juicy turkey served on a bed of zereshk polo (barberry basmati rice). I think we just started a new family Thanksgiving traditiong! Thank you Bahar restaurant! ”

“ We have been frequenting this restaurant for years as one of the best Persian restaurants in OC. The ambiance is nice and service is excellent. It is located in the second floor next to a middle eastern grocery store so you can do shopping or walk around after the meal. We ordered two eggplant dips to begin with. One with more yogurt and the other with more chill and a bit smoky. Both are excellent choices for the naans (two plates of hot naans were served per table). Each of us ordered different kabobs. I previously tried their lamb shank (excellent BTW), so I went for Chicken Soltani. There are two skewers of kabab, one with ground marinated chicken that is packed with herb flavors and melts in your mouth (like beef koobideh). The other kabab is chicken chunks which has more texture but still very trendy and juicy. We substitute rice with salad and grilled tomatoes, which is a much healthy choice and will not put you to sleep after me, as the portion is HUGE. We followed the entree with Persian saffron ice cream with a bit pistachio and sugary faloodeh noodle. Overall excellent dining experience and we will for sure tk come back many more times. ”

“ I used to go to this place alllll the time growing up and haven't been in forever. It's just as good as I remember it! We started with the 3 stews and the tahdig. The gheymeh was on point today! It was sour and perfect. We also ordered the chicken soltani combo that came with chicken barg and beef koobideh. Both the chicken barg and koobideh were juicy and full of savory goodness. I like to do half rice and half salad so I'm not eating so much rice plus the dressing on the garden salad is tangy yet a little creamy. You haaaave to get the maast moosir with it - it's like OG sour cream and onion (Persian version). It's a thick savory yogurt with shallots in it. Eat all your food with a bite of this. You'll thank me later. Our server Miriam was a real pro making sure we got everything we needed! She was always refilling our drinks. ”
